He is an engineer by profession, a philosopher and an aggressive entrepreneur whose zeal and determination to make the world a better place has stunned many. He is the brains behind PayPal – one of the world’s most trusted online global payment platforms and currently the CEO (and CTO) of SpaceX and Product architect of Tesla Motors.

Musk was born to a South African father and a Canadian mother who, exposed him to the world of computers and technology at a very tender age. In fact, he is said to have launched his first commercial software at just 12 years of age – a game called Blastar.

A physics graduate from the University of Pennsylvania, Elon rose from a somewhat humble background to start rubbing shoulders with the big names in the world of politics, technology and finance a few years after graduating in 1995.

People who have work with him describe him as a workaholic. He apparently spends most of his time researching
and inventing new concepts for Tesla Motors where he reportedly has a 32% stake.

One of his hallmark concepts is the SolarCity concept which aims to encourage the use of solar power as a primary source of power to replace petrol (in vehicles).
